September 22, 2013: A Bag of Rice

With technology today, many of us go few places without our cell phone and our boat is no exception.  When taking your cell phone on your boat you risk getting water splashed on it, or worse, that awful "plop" sound many of us have heard as the phone slides into the water!
One great way to help dry out your phone, and possibly save it from a watery death, is a simple bag of instant rice.  Keep a Ziploc bag of Uncle Ben's instant rice on your boat.  If you find your cell phone has gotten wet follow these easy steps to possibly bring your phone back to life:
1. Quickly remove the phone from the water
2. Turn the phone off if it is on (removing the battery if possible)
3. Place the phone in the bag of instant rice and seal it up
4. Leave the phone in the rice until completely dry, often 24 hours is necessary
Although there is no guarantee, this method has helped in many instances.
Keeping a simple bag of instant rice on board could save your phone!

Happy Boating and don't forget your bag of instant rice!

Week of September 8, 2013: It's a Snap!

It's a Snap!

When the snap-in carpet in your boat gets wet, it's hard for it to dry out from inside your boat.  An easy solution to this is to snap it out and attach it to the snaps for the cover along the outside of your boat!  This will keep your carpet secure and give it a chance to drip out and dry fully in the sunlight!

Week of September 1, 2013: Best of Boating Season

The Best of Boating Season is Here!
Some people are under the misconception that boating season ends on Labor Day. We believe that the boating gets better after Labor Day! Less boats are on the water, the water is still very warm, and the colors of the trees are just starting to turn. The fish are biting and the tubing and wakeboarding are great!
Fall makes you think of football, but all of the games are on the radio in the boat and the rest of the weekend can be spent boating.

Don't miss out on boating during
the best 2 months of the year!
